Automotive: Market Competitive Analysis

An analysis of a market’s competition examines the number of businesses in the nine divisions of the United States. As depicted in the following graph, market competition was concentrated in the United States’ South Atlantic division with approximately 19.4 percent of the industry participants based there, followed by the Pacific (16.3 percent), Middle Atlantic (13.7 percent), East North Central (13.6 percent) and West South Central (12.1 percent) divisions. The remaining divisions each accounted for less than 10 percent of total market competition within the United States. See the following graph.
