No More Guessing

Situation

GPS was engaged by the owner of a company that provided disinfection and sterilization services to healthcare/laboratory facilities, due to his business being “on a roller-coaster ride for the past 25 years.   I, finally, decided that it was time for professional guidance to smooth out performance.”

Process

The GPS consultant “quickly fit into our culture and understood our complicated business structure. This guy was a working machine, crunching numbers and analyzing ideas all day long. There was no wasted time.”

Among the numerous projects, one stand-out would be the Employee Evaluation and Gain Sharing Incentive Plan, which “was something we tried and gave up on at least three times in the last ten years. The system introduced by our consultant is well-thought out and it will be a benefit for the entire company.”  The client saw that not only would the plan produce improvements in employee productivity and efficiency, but it would also “help us retain good team members.”

Additionally, the Financial Dashboard, which the GPS consultant implemented, “will allow me to understand where the business is on a constant basis. This tool keeps me focused on where we are falling short, so that I can improve the results, rather than just getting bad news at the end of the year.”

Result

“The purpose of consulting was to put processes in place that will aid in taking us from a ‘guess and do’ company to a structured business with an eye on the bottom line, at all times.”  Not only was this achieved, but the client was also pleased that “the project did not leave me or anyone in the company with a ‘to-do’ list.
