The Ultimate Tag Team!
Here at GPS, we’re proud to have real live people running our sophisticated computer-based main switchboard system and not one of those annoying mechanical voicemail systems. When you call, or visit us, the friendly voice on the phone and the face of our company is either Tina or Patty, the two ladies at our front desk. They’re the ultimate two person tag team that can ‘wrestle’ it all—everything from greeting and phone wrangling to multi-tasking, which included quickly answering my questions!

Tina started out as an administrator in the business office, then she quickly moved to the …

GPS Reviews: The Driving Force To Keep Us Moving Forward
Situation
GPS Business Consulting was called in to assist a client in industrial distribution where the management team had been considering different ideas to take their company to the next level, but they were unable to formalize an action plan.

The management team had worked with different people by phone and in-person, but no one had been able to assist them, …
A Welcoming Office
Yancy’s office is one where you want to linger. Featuring the muted earth tones as well as the rustic textures of Tuscany, his arrangement of art, photos, books and furniture is full of warmth. Yancy was kind enough to share a few tips for others interested in creating a similarly inviting work space.
Décor Should Move You
The focal point is a dramatic painted canvas of a floral arrangement which is nearly half the size of the wall. It was the first item that Yancy picked up for the office. He explained that he looks for something to grab him—something …
GPS Consulting Organizes a ‘Dress For Success’ Clothing Drive
Aware that the right outfit can greatly influence self-confidence and may make the difference for someone struggling to find employment, GPS employees are collecting new and gently used business attire—suits, shirts, sweaters, pants, skirts, trousers, dresses, ties, belts, and shoes that are appropriate for job interviews. We’re cleaning out our closets of clothing that may have been the wrong size or color to benefit recipients at the Howard Area Community Center. The Center provides career and skill training, among other services, helping people to find jobs.

The April 24th eight-story garment factory collapse in Bangladesh that killed 1,127 workers drew the international spotlight on Western companies taking advantage of cheap labor, but not enforcing Western standards in terms of fire and safety regulations. How Western companies should respond and if they can play a critical role in reform is now the issue for debate.
Corporate Interest Should Include Worker Safety
America’s Walt Disney Company made headlines by pulling out completely in Bangladesh, while more than 30 mostly European companies (these include H&M of Sweden, Zara’s parent Inditex of Spain, Carrefour of France, and Tesco of …
GPS: Where the Buffaloes Roam
Visitors to the GPS headquarters in Buffalo Grove, Illinois are greeted by a life-size 4’ by 8’ fiberglass buffalo statue.
Purchased a while back as a business supporting Buffalo Grove’s ‘Buffaloes on Parade’ art gallery event, which featured custom painted statues, our buffalo has resided by our front driveway ever since.
Keeping our buffalo in tip-top shape has required some light maintenance. A few touch ups are required throughout the year. Then, every spring, his ‘GPS logo matching blue’ coat, accented by white, is completely reapplied.…
