GPS Reviews: We’re Now A Team!

GPS arrived, right on time, for a municipal airport business, which had been in operation for over 40 years, offering fuel & agriculture spraying chemical sales, hanger space leasing, aircraft sales and maintenance as well as flight training. The objective of this project was to put in place a plan to transfer ownership, over time, from the owner to his employees and, eventually, create a new organizational structure.
Process
Over several weeks, the GPS consultant worked closely with the business unit leaders and the owner of the company to develop a feasible plan, some the objectives achieved included restructuring “our general ledger chart of accounts, so that for the first time, we are able to run our company as four businesses. We also strengthened our financial controls over the fueling of aircraft.”
Prior to the consultant’s arrival, “employees had worked with the owner, but they had never before really sat down and engaged in a two-way dialogue.
Recognizing engagement, communication and transparency would be critical to our long term success during the meeting and planning, our consultant brought us along to the point that we are, now, working together as a team and as a company.”
